Historical background
Founded on 31st October 1916, the institution began running as an elementary school in year 1917 with a total of 24 boys. In 1918, it started to admit Lorong 1 Toa Payoh Condo female students which was a great push towards gender sensitivity. After the World War II, the Secondary School journey began, and in 1954, the institution recorded its first batch of certificate girls.
